Join Professor Bill Sahlman as he answers your questions about current developments in venture capital, entrepreneurship and private equity.  How will the current economy impact both short and long-term deal making?  Will the politics of 2008 effect the ability to raise capital?  As HBS enters its 100th year, how have the challenges facing entrepreneurs changed through the years?

Bill Sahlman is the Dimitri V. d'Arbeloff - Class of 1955 Professor of Business Administration at HBS.  The d'Arbeloff Chair was established in 1986 to support teaching and research of the entrepreneurial process.  The Chair honors the late Dimitri D'Arbeloff (HBS '55), whose entrepreneurial skills helped make Millipore Corporation a world leader in its industry.

Bill received an A.B. in Economics from Princeton University, an M.B.A. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Business Economics, also from Harvard.  His research focuses on the investment and financing decisions made in entrepreneurial ventures at all stages of their development.  In 1985, Bill introduced a new second-year elective course called Entrepreneurial Finance.   Bill also is Senior Associate Dean for External Relations.

We'll supply the conference call and you supply your lunch--at your desk. This unique series of lunchtime events will pop up monthly throughout HBS's Centennial year with business topics of exceptional importance and significant current interest. All you have to do is put your phone on "mute" and listen to the most up-to-date comments and insights regarding the topic at hand. Questions will be submitted via e-mail, either before-hand or in real time during the call.

These lunchtime events--monthly over the coming year--are for paid members of the Club only;  one of the continuing benefits of supporting the wide range of activities for area alumni, and other goals of the Club, including providing scholarships and pro-bono consulting. If you would like to become a member, do so on-line or if you need help with the website, call the Club office at 212-947-5544.
