Nonprofit Board Opportunities
Over 80 percent of HBS graduates are significantly involved with nonprofit organization, and 57 percent are board members. Serving as a member of a board of directors of a nonprofit organization can be an important, influential and satisfying experience.
Through Community Partners Projects
Many Community Partners volunteers join the Board of Directors of the nonprofit organization they worked with on a Community Partners project.
Through BoardAssist
HBSNY helps alumni find nonprofit board positions through a board matching program offered though a strategic partnership with BoardAssist, a New York based nonprofit corporation that recruits high impact board members for nonprofit on a pro bono basis. BoardAssist has been identifying board members for the non-profit community since 2001 and prides itself on its ability to identify strong cultural fits between nonprofit and potential board members.
Boards range from start up organization to well seasoned nonprofits with budgets over $100 million, and cover all public interest areas. BoardAssist works with boards that want as little as $1,000 per year. They work hard to screen out boards that seek only monentary contributions.
