Nonprofit: The National Jazz Museum in Harlem
Long a focal point for NY and visiting jazz enthusiasts, NJMH delivers educational programs, performances, concerts, frequent school workshops and seniors programs to preserve, promote and present jazz locally, nationally and internationally. Today, memberships contribute minimally to earned income. We will help NJMH design a strategy that assigns “value” among a broad range of potential members, in line with successful membership offerings at similar museums, and helps promote and sustain NJMH as a NYC jazz hub. A possible goal is to link membership to event offerings, particularly NJMH’s annual fundraising concerts and Museum-based performances.

Project: Design a Membership Structure to Improve Earned Income and Public Awareness
Brainstorming project to recommend to the National Jazz Museum in Harlem specific ideas to improve earned revenue thru membership. Recommendations should consider offerings of similar local museums and ways to link membership to various special offerings.

Specific goals of this session are:
-Sculpt out the skeleton of an attractive, simplified, multi-layered program designed for a broader market target including institutions (perhaps through subscriptions) and groups
-Recommend strategies to build awareness of NJMH’s membership program and associated benefits
-Link the value of an annual membership to special events such as the annual Fall benefit concert in
November 2018.
