Project: Brainstorming (Oct 1) to Maximize Fundraising Success

In anticipation of Fiver's 20th anniversary year, its leadership seeks to prioritize thoughtfully its well-developed list of capital projects and specific program enhancements to maximize success of a fundraising initiative planned for next year. Important goal of the initiative is to support long-term objectives for the organization, including that its youth participants are engaged citizens possessing 21st century skills to succeed in their schools and careers, and they are equipped to make good lifelong choices.

Specific Discussion to include:

  • How best to prioritize and communicate Fiver's competing needs to ensure it is investing in long-term outcomes and deepening impact on the youth served?
  • What mix of needs the organization has articulated has the greatest potential appeal to activate donor base and expand it? And, how might this differ among donors from Central NY where its camp is located vs donors from NYC area?
  • How might introducing Fivers first 'capital campaign' and/or establishing an endowment enhance or detract from maximizing its anniversary fundraising and/or the longer term financial and programmatic goals of the organization?
  • Should Fiver seek to define success beyond pure dollars raised metrics? How?
  • What new ideas might team share that Fiver has not yet considered?

This Community Partners brainstorming session is not a fundraising solicitation. This is a team think tank organized to assist Fiver with some fresh thinking and approaches.
