Since 1973, the Nuyorican Poets Cafe has served as a home for groundbreaking works of poetry, music, theater and visual arts. A multicultural and multi-arts institution, the Cafe gives voice to a diverse group of rising poets, actors, filmmakers and musicians.

The Nuyorican Poets Cafe owns and operates a former tenement building on the Lower East Side. Thanks to capital funding from the City of New York, the building will soon be renovated and expanded. During this 2-year renovation process, the Cafe will need to relocate its operations, and hold performances at alternative venues. Management is concerned that it could lose audience during this period. Once the renovation is finished, the Cafe will be able to offer a larger number of events and to accommodate larger audiences, as well as more ambitious programming. The Cafe is seeking help to:

• Develop a plan to keep the current audience engaged during the transition
• Develop a plan to market the future broader offerings to larger audiences.
