For more than 125 years, Brooklyn Kindergarten Society (BKS) has provided the children of Brooklyn working families with early education that cultivates the skills they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. BKS strives to stop the cycle of poverty where it does the most harm—in early childhood.

Work closely with the BKS Board of Directors to create a strategic plan to address a changing regulatory environment. Assist the Board in their evolution towards a more focus on strategic activities like funding, priority setting, and defining long term objectives. Activities include:

• Assessing maturity of current board practices and implications of current approach
• Gathering and sharing best practice approaches of effective boards
• Recommending potential actions to the BKS board to adopt to evolve their effectiveness
