The HBS Alumni Club of Charlotte is excited to announce that it will be hosting a fireside Q&A for all HBS Clubs with Wells Fargo featuring Saul Van Beurden, Head of Technology, Ather Williams III, Senior Executive VP, Head of Strategy, Digital Platform and Innovation and Madhu Narasimhan, EVP, Head of Innovation and SDI Operations. Three visionary leaders discuss the transformation at Wells Fargo through technology and innovation with a clear alignment of strategy, while managing risk, revenue and return on investment to provide best-in-class service to the clients, customers and shareholders. Come ready to learn about their transformational leadership as they answer your questions.

Saul Van Beurden

Head of Technology at Wells Fargo

Saul Van Beurden is the Head of Technology for Wells Fargo, one of the world’s largest banks with revenue exceeding $85 billion annually and with assets approaching $2 trillion. In this role, Saul leads a team of more than 40,000 information technology and security professionals and is responsible for all software development, IT operations, infrastructure and Cloud enablement, and cybersecurity. Saul is also a member of the company’s Operating Committee. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Saul was Chief Information Officer of Consumer and Community Banking at JPMorgan Chase.

Senior Executive VP, Head of Strategy, Digital Platform and Innovation at Wells Fargo

Ather Williams III is Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy, Digital Platform, and Innovation at Wells Fargo, responsible for leading corporate strategic planning, defining and managing digital platform standards and capabilities, and managing innovation priorities, opportunities, and company-wide efforts to drive transformation. He serves on the Wells Fargo Operating Committee and is based in New York.

Before joining Wells Fargo, Ather was Head of Business Banking at Bank of America, which provides strategic advice and solutions to small and mid-sized U.S. companies.

Madhu Narasimhan

EVP, Head of Innovation and SDI Operations at Wells Fargo

Madhu Narasimhan is Executive Vice President and Head of Innovation and SDI Operations. She oversees teams that activate the future by defining creative solutions to propel Wells Fargo and their our customers forward. From product discovery through agile delivery, the teams learn through experimentation, shape perspectives that accelerate progress, and cultivate new ways of collaboration with both internal and external partners. In addition, she oversees the Wells Fargo Startup Accelerator, manages the blockchain roadmap towards scaled delivery, and champions agile adoption across the company.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Madhu led virtual channels and analytics for Kaiser Permanente Care Delivery.

Incoming President and Chief Program Chair for the HBS Club of Charlotte

Vin Vera serves as the Incoming President and Chief Program Chair for the alumni club of Charlotte. He has built a career and academic portfolio that has spanned client-focused, P&L and general management, asset management, as well as leadership of critical financial functions including financial modeling. This broad financial perspective has enhanced his ability to manage operational risk, maintain a strong and consistent control environment, and develop optimum risk strategies to improve financial health and keep businesses safe.

He earned his Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree (ALB) from Harvard University (DCE/ES) and was sponsored by his company to attend Harvard Business School’s (HBS) Exec Ed. “General Manager Program” (TGMP9) and “Delivery Information Services.” He has been serving as a mentor for HBS students for over a decade.
