Description

Founded in 1971 in Queens and long since committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, LaGuardia offers a welcoming environment for immigrants and individuals of all backgrounds. A recognized innovator in sync with an evolving national focus, LaGuardia is helping change the thinking about two-year colleges, their place in workforce development, and their role in strengthening our economy. The College’s mission is to educate a diverse student population to become critical thinkers and socially responsible citizens who elevate themselves and help shape a rapidly evolving society.

Analyze LaGuardia alumni data and select hiring information from NYC government departments to recommend strategic steps designed to widen the job pipeline for LaGuardia students. Work with LaGuardia faculty and administration and public sector managers to develop a plan to place more LaGuardia alumni into these departments.

The objective of the project is to:

  • Analyze relevant employment data and understand the current state.
  • Interview relevant LaGuardia and NYC government stakeholders.
  • Synthesize findings to strategic recommendations and facilitate connections with relevant departments.
