Description

“Superstars come and go. Cher is forever.” The Cher Show is Cher’s inspiring life story, spanning six decades of off the charts success in entertainment, while also highlighting her struggles along the way. The show features 35 of her hits, and “enough Bob Mackie gowns to cause a sequin shortage in New York City!”

The New York Times says: “The Cher Show gets me, babe. Inspiration can arise from seeing how a famous American came defiantly into her power. The Today Show says: ‘Fresh and fabulous and so much fun, it’s a party!” The sizzle reel on Playbill.com gives a great idea of the energy and excitement of the show.

We are fortunate that Sara Beth Zivitz, MBA ’08, a Co-Producer of The Cher Show, has kindly offered to explain how the show came to be produced and the joys (and challenges) of working in theater.

6:00pm: Meet at Haswell Green’s, 240 West 52nd St. (between Broadway and 8th Avenue) upstairs in the Green Room to pick up your tickets and for a cash bar and snacks and mingling before the show.

6:45pm: Sara Beth will give a talk about The Cher Show and her theatre career followed by Q&A.

7:30pm: Walk next door to the show!

Neil Simon Theatre – 250 West 52nd Street (between Broadway and 8th Avenue)
