Description
New York Restoration Project is a nonprofit conservancy focused on bringing high-quality green space to underserved areas on New York City. NYRP stewards 80+ acres of parkland in Northern Manhattan, owns and operates 50+ community gardens across the five boroughs, distributes thousands of free trees to New Yorkers annually, and has built and renovated 300+ community gardens.
Sherman Creek Park is NYRP’s programming headquarters in Inwood, Manhattan. The tour will include
Riley-Levin Children’s Garden, NYRP’s demonstration garden and urban agriculture hub for a citywide network of community gardeners, and NYRP’s
Living Shoreline, a wetland restoration project that utilizes artificial oyster reefs. The whole walk is about a half mile. There are a few stairs and some grassy/uneven surfaces, so it is not fully ADA accessible.
Space is limited to 20 attendees. If you are interested but unavailable, please check out NYRP’s
calendar of events.
Participants must register by Noon on Monday, June 8th. Anything after this date will be pending availability.
Please note that no refunds will be issued.
By registering for this event you agree to abide by the HBSCNY Code of Conduct for yourself and your guests (read here).
