Nearly everyone we know now uses Zoom Video Communications to state connected – from Heads of State to Heads of schools to Corporate Executives & friends having happy hour. Zoom and it’s founder & CEO Eric Yuan have continued their mission to deliver happiness to the Zoom Community & create a caring, customer-driven and employee driven culture.

Laila Worrell, HBSCNY Board Member and CEO of Altran Americas and frog design, will moderate a Q&A discussion with Eric Yuan, Founder & CEO of Zoom on the “New Age” of meetings and how Zoom has changed meeting DNA entirely. This virtual event will focus on some of the important topics in our world today such as the long term effects of the Pandemic and how Zoom has become an important part of our daily existence and how we interact with each other, Culture & why it is so important, as well as Eric’s personal journey from being a private held entrepreneurial company to being a large public company that is now the standard for all kinds of video conferencing and the way we use technology today!

Eric Yuan

CEO and Founder, Zoom Video Communications

Eric S. Yuan founded Zoom in 2011. Prior to starting Zoom, Eric was Corporate Vice President of Engineering at Cisco, where he was responsible for Cisco’s collaboration software development. As one of the founding engineers and Vice President of Engineering at WebEx, Eric was the heart and soul of the WebEx product from 1997 to 2011. Eric proudly grew the WebEx team from 10 engineers to more than 800 worldwide, and contributed to revenue growth from $0 to more than $800M. Eric is a named inventor on 11 issued and 20 pending patents in real time collaboration. In 2017, Eric was added to the Business Insider list of the 52 Most Powerful People in Enterprise Tech. Eric is a graduate of the Stanford University Executive Program. Eric holds a bachelor of science in applied mathematics from Shandong University of Science and Technology, China.

Laila Worrell is the CEO for Altran North America. She previously served as Partner and Managing Director, Principal Investing and Private Equity, at the Boston Consulting Group. Prior to BCG, Laila held multiple leadership roles at Accenture and Macmillan. Laila holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
