Description

The Meeting House (TMH), founded in 2008, delivers an innovative approach to social and emotional learning (SEL) in a rich mix of program activities guided by professionals and peer mentors. TMH’s programs, which are built on evidence-based research conducted by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning and others, yield demonstrated positive results, including improved academic and workplace performance. TMH’s programs in partnership with the Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School have been recognized by the NYU Steinhardt Voices in Urban Education Journal as highly effective.

The Meeting House, which delivers social and emotional learning programs to youth and adults in NYC, wants to expand and replicate a free program for elementary school students at the Thurgood Marshall Academy. The current program has strong philanthropic support, and the project will deliver a strategic plan for growth.

The objective of the project is to:

  • Understand the current Meeting House / TMALS program model and viability for replication.
  • Identify the key program elements and resources required for growth.
  • Develop an actionable strategic plan for growth.
