Description

The New York Jobs CEO Council is a results-oriented coalition led by the CEOs of some of the largest employers in New York. Council member CEOs are business leaders committed to supporting and hiring from our talent pools to diversify their workforce and create economic opportunities for low-income New Yorkers. We are delivering on the commitment by fostering collaboration among business, education, and community leaders to connect students & workers with in-demand skills, to removing barriers to training & jobs, and to develop long-term, stable career pathways.

The project will design an actionable pilot program to address the nursing shortage in NYC, based on in-depth understanding of success factors for existing programs in other states, customized for Metro NYC. Implementation partners, including NYC healthcare employers and relevant CUNY schools, will be involved in the pilot design.

The objective of the project is to:

  • Develop profiles of successful programs in other states.
  • Build a pilot program for metro NYC to significantly expand the nursing (RN) the workforce in targeted healthcare employer(s).
