Join the HBS Club of New York and Alumni Startups for the HBS Alumni New Venture Competition’s Final Pitch Night, where finalists will compete for over $15,000 in cash prizes!
This event marks the finale of this year’s regional competition. New York & Northeast Finalists will pitch their companies live in front of judges. Three winners will be announced at the end of the night. The regional winner will advance to the global semifinals at HBS.

Jason E. Klein is an experienced media CEO, successful business builder and turnaround leader. He is currently founder and CEO of On Grid Ventures LLC, an investment and advisory firm for high growth ventures in media, marketing, commerce and information, with a focus on early stage ventures with leading-edge location technologies. On Grid Venture’s portfolio includes over 20 companies including RapidSOS, NY Shipping Exchange, TireAgent, Seamless Documents, Shoppable, and Four Mine.
Partner, NextView Ventures
Melody is a Partner at NextView Ventures based in its New York office. She has spent her entire career working with technology and Internet startups as an entrepreneur, operator, and investor.
Prior to joining NextView, Melody was Head of Product at Blue Apron (NYSE: APRN). Melody joined Blue Apron as the first product hire when the company was 18 months old with 20 HQ employees. She helped scale the business through hyper-growth (25x in 3.5 years) and to its IPO, building and leading a 35-person team across Product Management, Product Design, and Analytics/Data Science.
Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Starvest Partners
Deborah Farrington is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of StarVest Partners LP, a New York City based venture capital firm investing in technology-enabled business services with a focus on software-as-a-service, data & analytics and internet marketing. It is one of the largest women majority-owned venture capital firms in the US and was founded in 1998. She is an experienced public and private company director, having chaired or served on all major board committees, and has in depth experience in software, investments, corporate finance and scaling companies.
Investment Principal, Anthemis
Jillian is a venture capitalist at Anthemis, where she focuses on investing in early stage fintech startups in North America and Europe. As a key member of the investment team, she has helped grow our US portfolio and serves as a board observer for seven of them. She also helped to launch the Female Innovators Lab in partnership with Barclays, with helps promote female founders in fintech take their startups from idea stage to seed. Prior to joining Anthemis, Jillian worked in the Investment Banking division at Barclays, focused on Financial Institutions. Jillian was listed among Business Insider’s 30 And Under list of Rising Stars in New York Tech.
