Club Leadership Volunteer Opportunities

Below are volunteer opportunities for the officers who oversee and run the divisions within the Club, as well as sector and marketing leaders who augment our programming activities.

  • Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer (CDEIO)
The CDEIO spearheads the Club’s efforts to demonstrate and promote racial equity. This is a Club Officer position that offers participation on the Club’s Management Committee and involves creating and implementing a tangible and meaningful diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy for the Club and its programming, taking the Club’s previous work in the area and HBS’s Action Plan for Racial Equity as a jumping-off point.

For more information, contact Maureen Friar, Chief of Staff, at mfriar@hbscny.org.

  • Marketing Co-Chair – Website & Digital Content Curator, HBS Alumni Angels of New York
This Board position within the Alumni Angels organization is responsible for content development and website design for the HBS Alumni Angels of Greater New York, with a special emphasis on our reputation within the entrepreneurial community and generating deal flow.

    Those interested should contact angels@hbscny.org.

  • Sector Leads and Event Organizers, Programming

The Club hosts between 80 and 100 events per year reflecting the interests of its alumni base and volunteers; these events are generally open to the public. Sector Leads, who serve on the Programming Committee, are responsible for organizing speaker events in their fields of interest. Event Organizers work with Sector Leads to organize and promote individual events. These roles provide a chance to meet with C-Suite executives, bring discussions on cutting-edge issues to the alumni community, and create meaningful networking opportunities.

The Programming division is managed by two co-Vice Presidents (co-VPs); they oversee the Program Manager as well as the Sector co-Chairs who oversee programming volunteers.

We are seeking Sector co-Chairs and event organizers for the following Sectors:

    • Career & Leadership:  Job Search Tools, Networking Guides, Talks with Prominent Authors and Inspirational Leaders

    • Daytime Programs:  NYC Walking Tours, Matinee Performances, Unique Programming Talkbacks, Brown Bag Lunches re: Current Events, Monthly Book Club Discussions
