Description

Do you ever dream of turning your best photographs into a photobook published by a well known imprint? Renowned Italian photographer Giacomo Brunelli, winner of the Sony World Photography Award, has not only exhibited his work in many of the best galleries in the world, he has also had many of his series published as best-selling photobooks. Tonight, he’ll show you how it is done, so you can do it yourself!

Using his own work as a case study, Giacomo will start at the beginning of a project, discussing the conceptual planning required for success. He’ll provide tips for editing your work and building your portfolio, so that you can develop your story idea and sequence your images to reveal your narrative. He’ll suggest how to find the right publisher for your work and negotiate a successful contract. Finally, he will reveal the right and wrong ways to approach commercial galleries, curators and magazines, so you can begin to sell your work to collectors.

Audience members will be encouraged to ask questions, to maximize this rare opportunity to hear advice from one of the top practitioners in the contemporary photography community.

Note: Entrance to 5 Bryant Park is on 41st Street between 6th and Broadway – NOT on 6th Ave.
