Description

An interactive class on effective communication based upon the “Juilliard at Work” training method for business and arts professionals, then light dinner refreshments followed by a concert by the Juilliard Orchestra.  Learn from a world-renowned expert, then enjoy a fabulous symphony orchestra performance – an incredible combo! 
   
Experience a sneak peek into Juilliard Extension’s new professional development program,”Juilliard at Work.” The program is designed for professionals in corporate settings to foster creativity and innovation in the workplace through arts-based training and experiences. This interactive class will be led by Brian McManamon, a celebrated teacher and coach whose credits include numerous universities and A-List theater companies.  Attendees will broaden their imaginative capacities in a fun, nonthreatening environment, and harness skills to apply to a range of professional situations.
     
The interactive course “Dramatic Techniques for Effective Communication” will run from 5:30-7:00pm. There will be a break for light refreshments followed by a performance from 7:30-9:00pm by the Juilliard Orchestra, conducted by John Adams. The following works will be performed:

Brian McManamon

Actor, Instructor and Acting Coach

Brian McManamon is an actor, teacher, and acting coach based in New York, currently teaching at Syracuse University’s Advanced Tepper Program. In addition to running a private acting studio in NYC, he has taught and directed at The Juilliard School and at many other Colleges and Theater Companies:  the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Vassar College, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, New York University’s Tisch School, Columbia and the Public Theater, to name some.
