What is NVC?

HBSCNY Alumni Startups is excited to announce the 2022 New Venture Competition and invite all HBS alumni working on an early-stage startup to apply to the New York & Northeast U.S. Region! Teams will compete in the regional competition for a chance to represent our region in the HBS global finals. This competition is open to all HBS alumni and both for-profit and not-for-profit companies are eligible. 

NVC is sponsored by the Harvard Business School’s Rock Center for Entrepreneurship and Alumni Clubs & Associations.  Winners receive an invitation to the student and alumni New Venture Competition Finale to be held on campus on March 31, 2022.

APPLY by January 10, 2022 at 12pm noon ET for a chance to receive invaluable feedback, gain access to one of the world’s most powerful networks, and win prizes!

Kathy Murray is an approachable and creative business growth executive, board member, angel investor and advisor. She applies her strategic, operational and sales skills as well as connections in order to achieve significant cooperation, operational efficiencies and increase each firm’s profitable revenue growth. Kathy is Co-Founder of Tech Up for Women and Principal of McMorran Strategists, LLC. Earlier, Kathy held key C-Suite roles at publicly-traded firms and partnerships – Aetna, PwC and FARO .

Current affiliations include: Board Member & Diversification Committee Chair of Daily Gazette (a Schenectady family-owned Media firm and Winner of 2021 Private Directors Magazine Board Award), Founder of Executive Forum Angels, Board Chair of Harvard Business School Women’s Association of NY, Life Trustee for University of Rochester, and Fellow at the Foreign Policy Association,

Kathy received a BA in Math and General Science from the University of Rochester and the Advanced Management Program Degree from Harvard Business School.
