The Exodus Transitional Community (ETC) delivers innovative programming tailored to youth and adults affected by the justice system and advocates for a society in which all can achieve social, economic, and spiritual well-being in New York City.
Nonprofit: Exodus Transitional Community (ETC)
ETC was founded in 1999 by Julio Medina, three years after returning home from prison, with the help of one volunteer and a generous donation by two founding supporters. Twenty years later, it has grown to an organization led by a diverse team that have been directly affected by the justice system with ~50 staff members and 25 volunteers. It delivers a broad spectrum of programs such as Youth Empowerment (mentoring), Employment and Re-entry, Recovery & Wellness, Housing, Education and Training. ETC’s mission is to lead the policy and advocacy efforts that promote positive change in our communities.
