The Guardianship Project (TGP), provides incapacitated people without friends or family long term, reliable and effective guardianship services in New York City.

TGP is a demonstration project of the Vera Institute of Justice. It serves as court-appointed agency guardians to a vulnerable, mostly indigent population — individuals who lack family or other supports and provides a desperately missing element to the social safety net. TGP offers a highly regarded holistic guardianship services model. Project staff include lawyers, social workers, and finance associates, who oversee an array of services and help clients to remain independent and engaged in their communities.
