More About Hyde Leadership Charter School
Hyde Leadership Charter School was founded in 2006 with the commitment to serve the Hunts Point neighborhood of the South Bronx, the highest-risk community for children in New York City. It is one of the largest independent charter schools in New York City. As three schools under one charter, Hyde serves nearly 1,000 students and over 400 alumni, who have the opportunity to attend a school that supports them from kindergarten all the way to and through college. What makes Hyde so special is its deep emphasis on character development, the goal of which is to get all students to believe in themselves and do their best. Character matters and the results of this approach are clear: on average, over 90% of our students graduate high school on time and enroll in college. Moreover, Hyde alumni graduate from college at rates more than three times the national average.
