Sakagura literally means “Sake cave.” This hidden gem in the basement of a typical office building in Midtown is NYC’s premier izakaya — a Japanese pub that serves authentic tapas-style dishes. The décor is reminiscent of what one experiences in Tokyo. Sakagura is known by aficionados as one of America’s top sake bars with a carefully curated selection of over 260 sakes. An introduction to several types of sake will be lead by a Sake Master. Dinner will include a Japanese salad, assortment of sushi, grilled fish, vegetables, soba noodles and homemade dessert. We have reserved a private room so seating will be limited. Our Wine & Dine events always sell out quickly so don’t hesitate.
Sakagura is part of TIC Group, the largest operator of Japanese restaurants in New York City with more than 15 locations, and owned by the Yagi family. Bon Yagi came to the U.S. in the 1970s and opened his 1st restaurant in 1984. Although still active, he has (sort of) handed over the reins to his daughter, Sakura (COO), and son, Daihachi (Manager of Sakagura). One of the Yagis will be presenting insights and be available for Q&A.
Please note that no refunds will be issued.
