This webinar will explore the many dimensions of philanthropic giving for individuals:
  
– Developing a mission statement for personal philanthropy
– How do you measure progress and evaluate the effectiveness of your giving?
– Resources available for individuals
– Analysis of giving vehicles such as Donor Advised Funds( DAF) and Foundations
– The role of community foundations
 
The webinar will feature philanthropic experts as well as individuals actively engaged in philanthropy.
   
Participants must register by NOON on July 14th to receive details on joining the discussion. The Zoom link will be sent out 24 hours before the event.

Naila Bolus

VP, Philanthropy and Director, Campaign for a Greater Boston The Boston Foundation

Naila joined the Foundation in 2024 and currently serves as Vice President of Philanthropy and Director of the Campaign for a Greater Boston. In this role she leads a new effort to inspire greater philanthropy to bring about meaningful improvements in the   
  
Previously Naila served as the President & CEO at Jumpstart, an early education organization working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. During her tenure, Jumpstart significantly expanded its scale and impact, increasing the number of children served annually by close to 70%, revising its curriculum to improve academic and social-emotional outcomes for children, and developing new programming and policies to increase the number of high-quality early educators and promote equitable early education opportunities.
  
Before Jumpstart, Naila was Executive Director of Ploughshares Fund, the largest grant-making foundation in the United States dedicated exclusively to security and peace funding. Here Naila led a successful $25 million endowment campaign, tripled the foundation’s budget and staff, and helped lead an effort to win Senate ratification of the New START treaty in December 2010. She pioneered a model of “impact philanthropy” that leveraged the foundation’s convening power, grant-making and operational capacity. Prior to Ploughshares Fund, she served as Co-Director of 20/20 Vision, a national grassroots lobby. She helped found and served as Political Director of the Women Legislators’ Lobby, a national network of women state legislators.
  
Naila is a mentor to first-generation college students through Transitioning Together, co-chairs a local refugee sponsorship group as part of WelcomeCorps, and volunteers for several local agencies.  Naila graduated from Tufts University with a degree in International Relations. She is the proud mom of three adult daughters and lives in Newton, MA, with her husband, Burton Glass.

Donald Greene

Managing Director - National Donor-Advised Fund Executive Bank of America

Donald J. Greene serves as the National Donor-Advised Fund Executive, leading the Private Bank’s strategy and engagement within Global Wealth Management and across the broader Bank of America enterprise in providing support to the charitable giving needs of the Bank’s diverse customer base through donor- advised funds and related charitable giving strategies. In this role, Mr. Greene oversees the Bank of America Charitable Gift Fund as well as the Bank’s broader donor-advised fund strategy.
  
Bringing more than 30 years of strategic growth consulting, charitable giving, family office, business and corporate development and nonprofit management experience to the Bank. Mr. Greene’s experience includes work with donor-advised funds, public charities, ultra-high net worth and high-net worth families, family offices as well as independent, corporate, community and family foundations. A social entrepreneur, Mr. Greene has directed the start-up of several successful not for profit and for profit enterprises in the fields of community development, charitable giving, healthcare, and education, including the nation’s first self-sustaining Social Impact Bond. 
  
Mr. Greene holds a graduate degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Nonprofit Management, and an undergraduate degree in Celtic Studies from Harvard University. Throughout his career, Mr. Greene has served on a diverse array of public charity boards and serves as chairman and president of the Clipper Ship Foundation. He currently resides with his wife Ashley and their son and daughter in Massachusetts

Raj is one of America’s top financial advisors managing over $7 billion and runs a highly acclaimed, high end wealth management practice.
  
Raj has been featured in the Barron’s and Forbes Top 100 Advisor list since inception. From 2021-2025, he was recognized by Forbes and Barron’s Magazine as the number one Financial Advisor in Massachusetts. In addition, Raj is on the Barron’s Hall of Fame list– one of a small group of advisors who have appeared in Barron’s ranking of America’s Top 100 Advisors for ten consecutive years. Raj is an ardent believer in philanthropy and is involved with several domestic and global organizations in the areas of poverty disruption, education, youth leadership and the environment. He is a current trustee and former Chairman of Boston Harbor Now and a former member of the Board of Trustees of Emerson College. Raj is also a Founding trustee and Director Emeritus of the American India Foundation (AIF), an organization devoted to disrupting poverty in India through a spectrum of programs. Raj is on the Board of Youth LEAD, now part of Emerson college – an internationally recognized organization promoting cultural understanding and tolerance among high school students. He is also on the board of The Boston Foundation, one of the oldest community foundations in the country.
 
In 2013, Raj was the recipient of the “Solas Award” from Rian, formerly called the Irish International Immigrant Center for his commitment to promoting cross-cultural dialogue and for his inspirational example of achievement and civic engagement as an immigrant.
   
For two consecutive years 2023-25, Raj was included in Boston Magazine’s list of “150 Most Influential Bostonians”. In October of 2023, Raj received the Life Time Achievement Award from New England Community Awards for his contribution to philanthropy and betterment of the community.
