Description
Jim Lanzone, CEO, is the architect of Yahoo’s renaissance since its sale by Verizon to private equity firm Apollo Global Management in 2021. Today, Yahoo is one of the most visited properties on the Internet, and it’s charting a new course with significant investments across all of its products over the last year.
Please join us to hear the story of this Internet pioneer’s rebirth and Lanzone’s vision for its future.
Yahoo reaches nearly 90 percent of the U.S. internet population—that’s hundreds of millions of people—coming to the company’s properties each month. It is a profitable collection of brands in email, search, news, finance, sports, and more, with the majority ranking in the top 3 in their category. As the company approaches it’s thirtieth anniversary, we’ll look at how it continues to be a trusted guide for millions. How did it navigate the demands of private equity ownership, fierce competitiveness in online advertising and the pandemic? What kind of future does CEO Jim Lanzone see for it, and digital publishing in general, given artificial intelligence?
Jim Lazone joined Yahoo as CEO in 2021, having served as CEO, Tinder, and CEO, CBS Interactive. How did these earlier experiences in the online dating and legacy media arenas inform his success at Yahoo?
